Fishing Trips: July 16 and August 20

Our purpose is to be both an educational club and a social club.  Club fishing trips are social events and the best way to put into practice everything we talk about at our formal club meetings.  Come out and learn from fellow club members.

These trips are open to all club members (at no charge.)  Bring your own bait and lures.   Remember that all Junior trips (announced on the club forum and via email) are also open to all club members.  Juniors trips are not listed here.

July 16:  Tuesday evening club meeting at 7pm:  Fishing the Plum Island Beachfront.  Meet at Plum Island airport.  Directions.

Aug. 20:  Tuesday evening club meeting at 7 pm:  Fishing the Plum Island Beachfront or perhaps the Wildlife Refuge.  Meet at Plum Island airport.  Directions.

Fishing Haddock and Cod With Light Tackle

by Allan Butler

It is not like when our fathers did it. It no longer needs to be like bringing up an old boot. With all the changes in size seasons and numbers, but most of all the improvements in the tackle, ground fishing can be a lot of fun! We will be going over not just the gear, but also how best to use it.

Please join us on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 for another great angling seminar. Our monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Salisbury, MA Hilton Senior Center, (43 Lafayette Rd., Salisbury, MA). The doors open at 6:45 PM. Dinner is served at prices that will not break the bank.  The club meeting starts at 7:15 PM. After the meeting, we have a seminar by a featured angler. Seminars are free for club members; there is a $5.00 charge for non-members. Membership information is available here.

Find NEW driving directions and information here.

Club Meeting on September 18, 2018: Round Table Review of Fishing Season

We will have two discussion groups: one for surf fishing and one for boat fishing.
To all Surf Fishermen:  Please bring a favorite lure (or two) to show everyone.
We currently have no one cooking dinner for the September meeting.  If you can provide or serve dinner, please let us know.

On September 18, 2018 our club meeting will be the annual end-of-summer fishing round table. Come learn what worked and what didn’t from our fellow club members.

We will also have a brief presentation from John Macone of the Merrimack River Watershed Council.

Founded in 1976, Merrimack River Watershed Council (MRWC) is dedicated to promoting a clean and accessible Merrimack River and watershed. As “the voice of the Merrimack,” the Council’s mission is to protect, improve, and conserve the Merrimack River watershed for people and wildlife through education, recreation, advocacy, and science.
