Fishing Trips: July 16 and August 20

Our purpose is to be both an educational club and a social club.  Club fishing trips are social events and the best way to put into practice everything we talk about at our formal club meetings.  Come out and learn from fellow club members.

These trips are open to all club members (at no charge.)  Bring your own bait and lures.   Remember that all Junior trips (announced on the club forum and via email) are also open to all club members.  Juniors trips are not listed here.

July 16:  Tuesday evening club meeting at 7pm:  Fishing the Plum Island Beachfront.  Meet at Plum Island airport.  Directions.

Aug. 20:  Tuesday evening club meeting at 7 pm:  Fishing the Plum Island Beachfront or perhaps the Wildlife Refuge.  Meet at Plum Island airport.  Directions.

Fishing Trip on Tuesday, August 21, 2018

The Parker River Wildlife Refuge beaches are again open for fishing.  Lots 1, 2, 6, and 7 opened on August 13, 2018.  So let’s get out there and fish!

Next Tuesday is our August club meeting date and club fishing trip.  Meet at Plum Island Airport.  We will head over to the Wildlife Refuge where we have a group parking deal offered to us.  Assemble at the airport around 7 pm.   Plan on beachfront fishing, not jetty fishing.  Bring your own gear, lures, and bait.

Please be at the Airport by 7 pm.  We want to head over to the Wildlife Refuge together to get  all cars in as a group for the parking discount (paid by the club.) Car-pooling is encouraged to limit the number of vehicles.  Latecomers may need to pay for entry ($5).

Anyone who remains on the refuge past sunset needs a walk-on night permit.  You may want to purchase that Tuesday evening.

If you are a complete novice (especially if you don’t have gear), it will be better to wait for the September Junior’s Fishing event at the wildlife refuge for your first outing with the club.  The club can provide gear and more instruction at the Juniors event.

Summer Club Fishing Trips Update

No fishing tonight (Tuesday, July 17th).  Stay safe and dry.  See you in August.

Be aware of the weather forecast for thunderstorms on July 17th.
Fishing in the rain proves that you are dedicated.  Fishing in between the lightning bolts shows something else!

The weather forecast for tomorrow, July 17th, calls for thunderstorms.  We will post here again sometime tomorrow letting you know if the fishing trip will happen.  Check your email, check the website, check the forum.  Do not assume the trip will happen unless you see something in one of those places confirming it.

Our purpose is to be both an educational club and a social club. Club fishing trips are social events and the best way to put into practice everything we talk about at our formal club meetings. Come out and learn from fellow club members.
