The Fishing Show Season Is Not Over

Thank you to everyone who attended our fishing show on Saturday, March 25.  We had two great speakers:  J.D. Muller and Steve Gallant.  The show was well-attended with over 400 people there.  Congratulations to everyone who won something on the raffle table!

But the fishing show season is not over.  Two great shows are coming up next weekend.

Massachusetts Striped Bass Association has their show on Saturday 4/1 and Sunday 4/2 in.  Find more information here.   The schedule of speakers includes Julio Silva (one of our own club members!) giving his “Fishing Cuttyhunk” seminar and D.J. Muller discussing fishing the Cape Cod Canal.  If you didn’t get enough of D.J. yesterday, you can hear him again next weekend.  Catch them and other speakers next weekend in Hanover, MA at the MSBA Expo 2017.

The New England Paddlesports Show hosted by Kittery Trading Post has free admission.  The exhibitors cover all the big brands for kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and paddle sports accessories.  It is a terrific place to shop for kayaks and kayak fishing gear.  The speakers include two names familiar to our club:  Alicia Rossman who spoke to us at the June PISC club meeting and Tim Moore, who spoke at our January meeting.  There are other speakers as well (information here) as well as some in-pool demonstrations of kayak skills.  The show runs Friday through Sunday, March 31 to April 2 (information here) and takes place at the UNH Field house in Durham, NH.  That means no sales tax on the gear normally sold from the Kittery Trading Post store located in Maine.

An upcoming post will summarize some of the fishing tournaments in our local area, as it will soon be time to get out and fish!
