We are a recreational fishing club founded in 1957. Our 250+ members are involved in Surf, Boat and Fly Fishing with interest in other related areas such as Beach Access, Conservation, Fishery Management Planning, and offering young people the experience of saltwater fishing with adult mentors. The Plum Island Surfcasters hold year-round meetings, on the third Tuesday of each month, for the sharing of fishing experiences, discussing saltwater fishery issues and showcasing popular speakers.
We host several outings including: an Invitational Striped Bass Fishing Tournament every May in which a number of local fishing clubs participate for fun and prizes; a number of fishing trips to places like Martha's Vineyard; Kids outings to local beaches; as well as a year-long Big Fish Tournament (Stripers, Blues, Fly Fishing, Boat and Shore).
Our monthly newsletter, "The Plum Line” is filled with member information on club news, events, recipes, and fishing related happenings in the area. In addition our website has up-to-date fishing reports, weather, and tide charts. Fishing with the Plum Island Surfcasters is not educational, but fun for the whole family.
We are developing affilations with other organiations and we are proud to be AFFILIATED with Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association.
